Technology as the evolution and obsolescence of mankind itself.Mechanically, I found navigation more confusing than it has a right to (reminds me of Lone Survivor a little), and the puzzling is mainly a not very fun blockage to be removed in order to access more delightful content, which is still kind of OK because most of the time it doesn't put up a lot of resistance.I cannot praise enough the vistas and soundscape, this is really something you'd rather not want to miss if you're into experimental games. This one's good for those who are OK with being given general concepts to think about, not for others who like having everything explained in painstaking detail.. A pleasant small point-and-click game, not very hard. A couple clever ideas, and a couple unfortunately obtuse ideas, but still not hard. I love the music and the environments. I feel like I could spend hours just listening to a tape repeat.. I got this game as part of the Jingle Jam 2016, and it was one of my favorites. It only takes about an hour and half to beat, but I really enjoyed everything about it. The visuals and sound design were really atmospheric, and the mechanics were intuitive and fun. Kind of a minimalist game, but in a really good way.. If there was a legal limit to how much chromatic aberration a game can use, Small Radios Big Televisions would be well over it. I can't play for a long sitting without feeling nauseous.. This is a weird game to talk about for me. Not because I was weirded out by it, but because I found this game so aggressively middle-of-the-road, I can't recommend for or against. Here are my thoughts:Firstly, 13$CAD for this is far too much. This is a 5-hour tops point-and-click. This game, along with many other puzzle games nowadays suffer from "ambiguitis", when it comes to storytelling. "What happened here?" You'll find yourself asking. Well, SRBT won't tell you, not in the slightest. This isn't always a bad thing, but when it serves no purpose, it's not really an addition to the story. Or lack therof, I guess.A few of the earlier puzzles don't follow the rules of the game. Because this game has no tutorials, it expects you to make jumps in logic that you may not always get. I'm not the smartest, but when a system previously introduced to us can't be used in a certain location, I feel cheated. This problem fixes itself in the later levels. It's boring. The Witness is an interesting game because its world is set up to be explored, and with so many *different* options for what could happen, it keeps you engaged with the game. SRBT presents itself as linear, and doesn't allow for those "oooooooh" moments other games have.I hate the name, it's very annoying to say.The visuals are pretty to an extent, I have a few screenshots of particularly nice scenes. The effort the devs made to make the game look older but new was best done in the loading gif. That is aesthetically pleasing, far more than the actual game. The music is alright, but it wasn't for me. Experiences may vary.So I guess I didn't really like this game. Maybe you would though.. I liked the game when I picked it up in a recent humble bundle pack. Can easily be done in 2 hours or less. The end seemed a bit slugish to prolong the rest of the game. Puzzels were extremely easy except one that was rather illogical. I would say what you see in the trailer is what you get. However the normal price of it's current 12€ is way too much for it and so under that aspect I would give it a pass.. The most aesthetically pleasing art game that I've ever played. The graphics style is clean and immaculately polished. The music is worth the price of the game alone featuring 80's Future-retrokeyboard music similar to scores played in Heartbeeps (1981) and A Clockwork Orange.Small Radios is a fairly easy, mouse-driven, puzzle game telling an obscure story concerning virtual reality casettes that play relaxing dioramas for their troubled participants but may also be recording something as well..... The Ultimate Screensaver Simulator5/10Worth The Price?: For how short and unmemorable this game is, BUY ON SALE!PROS:-Excellent visuals-Nice and clean sound effects -Captures moods and uniqueness of different tapes wellCONS:-What was the story? Is there even a story? -Repetative gameplay to the point of being annoying-Backtracking -No challengeThis is barely a game, it very much feels like the designers just wanted a way to show off their cool visuals and this is what they came up with. If they took a different approach to this game and changed its cryptic story(?) and the variation of puzzles, it could be a very interesting and memorable game. If you enjoy looking at surreal visuals and doing the same tasks throughout a game, this is for you! If you are looking for a unique puzzle experience with an eye opening story and brain candy, miss this one. If you played this game while high it would probably be highly enjoyable, might be worth investigating.reminisced about Windows 95 screensavers & Windows Media Player visuals, and that is the best thing about this game.. This is pretty cool to play. What if Dali and Enya got together to make a video game?
